Get ready to build courses all over again.

Nintendo has just announced that their upcoming game for the Nintendo Switch, Super Mario Maker 2, will be officially launching on June 28. While some though that the date would be announced sometime before E3 2019, Nintendo has decided to let the cat out of the bag beforehand. This is a pleasant surprise to be sure as we getting the title much earlier than anticipated.

The game itself was only unveiled to us just this past February during a Nintendo Direct. From what we could tell the game will very much play like its predecessor, with some new features to boot. This includes but is not limited to, slopes, being able to modify the auto-scroll direction, more enemies, tools, themes, as well as a plethora of usable objects from Super Mario 3D World.

The original which came out on the Nintendo Wii U was a massive success, becoming one of the highest grossing games on the ill-fated system. It was also ported to the Nintendo 3DS with much of the same content intact, although you weren’t able to share any of the course online. Now that we have a definitive date we’re sure to be in for more information before the game comes out. Either way we can’t to get our hands on it.
