Following today’s announcement of Super Mario Run’s price and release date, we now have a brand new gameplay video from Nintendo that shows off more footage from the game. While we’re seeing more of the standard game in action, we also get to check out the other modes that will be included in the game. Watch the video at the bottom of this post.
The main mode is the standard 2D-platformer gameplay that Mario fans will recognize, which has 6 worlds for a total of 24 courses to run through. This mode will be accompanied by the multiplayer time attack mode called Toad Rally, as well as Kingdom Builder that allows players to create and customize their own Mushroom Kingdom.
In other Mario news, it looks like a new 3D Mario game may be gearing up to be the launch title for Nintendo Switch next year. While previously assumed to be The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, it looks like the 3D Mario game is much further along in development than initially thought. Super Mario Run will launch for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices running iOS 8.0 or higher on December 15th, and will cost $9.99 for the full experience. Check out the Introduction to Super Mario Run video below.
