Bare Knuckle Development has announced that the soundtrack to their retro arcade shoot ’em up, Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo, will soon be available for purchase. If you’re unfamiliar with the game like I was, I’ll give you the rundown. It’s a modern take on the retro arcade shoot ’em up. You control a “space blaster” and fly around shooting things to save humanity from extinction. Think something like Ikaruga or Robo Aleste. Plus added co-op play, which is always a beautiful thing to have. So far, the game received positive reviews on Steam and is heading to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in January.

So, alongside that console release, we are getting the complete Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo soundtrack. It will be available on Steam, Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, YouTube, and other music platforms. So everywhere, it will be available everywhere. Being from a small game, the full OST only contains four tracks, but they are throwing in two remixes. Since it’s only priced at $1.99, that’s not a bad deal at all. And what I have heard of the music sounds like good stuff.

Super Mega Space Blaster Special Turbo’s music was created by Electric Fan Death and had a real ’80s synth vibe to it, which is perfect for this genre and the art style of the game. You’ll also get the soundtrack when you buy the edition of the game when it releases on January 14th, which is the way to go if you don’t already own it. The Steam version even comes with a printable A3 poster, a desktop wallpaper. I have no idea why desktop wallpapers are still a thing that publishers always include with games. Does anyone care about that at this point? Again, I’m not going to complain about getting extra stuff.
