Break the bank and unlock all the stuff!

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania has a lot to offer in terms of its content, especially when it comes to all the different courses it has. Another neat aspect about the game is its generous number of characters to play, along with cosmetics they can put on. There are also an assortment of different modes to unlock.

However, in doing so, you will need to use points to unlock basically everything other than levels. This includes all of the aforementioned. Here are different methods in earning points so you can start buying things to your liking, including the additional modes.

How to earn points in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania

Points are basically earned from every in-game activity you complete. It’s a currency that can accumulate quickly until you want to buy things in bulk. The amount of cosmetics, characters, photo mode effects, and specials might seem a bit off putting from steep pricing, but worry not.

Play the story mode

By naturally playing the game, primarily the main story mode, you’ll earn at least 100 points at the minimum plus bonuses. These bonuses include any bananas (or altered collectibles depending on crossover character) that you pick up per level. Since there are hundreds of levels to play through, that will naturally accrue a ton of points.

Complete the missions

“Missions” in Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania is just another word for challenges. These missions are per mode and per level, all with different point values when completed. There are missions like clear a level, clear a level without the helper function, clear a stage with (x number) of bananas, or within a certain time limit.

Play without the helper function

Difficulty purists will have a field day with this one. With the removal of lives per run and the addition of a “helper function”, the game will provide incentives for additional points. Completing stages without the function will net you an additional 200 points per level completion on top of the guaranteed 100.

The option by default is already set to being disabled. However, the more you tend to fall out on a certain level, the game will recommend that you do. You can always choose not to. Think of it when you die too much in Super Mario Maker and Luigi asks if he can lend you a hand. Don’t, unless you really are at your wits end.

Play the party games!

Believe it or not, you can actually earn points that go towards unlocking new things by playing the party games. This mode has its own set of missions per game too. Every mission completed nets you 300. If you want to take a break from the main game but still want to unlock more things, sink some time into this as a refresher.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania will be out on October 5, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series S/X, and the Nintendo Switch. You can check out our review and other content regarding the game by clicking here.
