To start off the week, we got a somewhat strange Super Smash Bros. update on Monday that seemed to confirm Meta Knight’s return in the upcoming Super Smash Bros., but with a Mii Fighter version rather than the real thing. After the reveal of a new item yesterday, Masahiro Sakurai has decided to jump back to what we all wanted to see, the return of Meta Knight.

  • Pic of the day. “Looks like there was an impostor in the earlier posts, so I introduced him to my sword!” …I’ll leave it up to your imagination if he really said that or not. The veteran hero, Meta Knight, returns to battle!! We didn’t forget the Battleship Halberd either!!

Sakurai also included the above secondary image to his Miiverse post that included the following caption that reveals a bit of a change in one of Meta Knight’s moves.

  • Meta Knight’s Up Special Move, Shuttle Loop, changed quite a bit in this game. The glide is gone, and the attack slashes opponents twice while spinning in a large loop. This has turned into a highly technical and effective move.

This adds another veteran to the mix, this time midweek. With about a month to go until the Japanese release, now we’ll have to see how often we may be getting other reveals in the days prior.
