World of Light’s toughest enemy isn’t one of the bosses.
One of the things that is bugging players in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s epic World of Light adventure mode is the many extremely challenging fights that seem to pop up out of nowhere. One of the toughest is Pauline, who shows up early in World of Light, if you headed toward the nearby town. This battle involves two heavy hitters, and a main foe who doesn’t seem to want to get KO’d. There’s ways to improve your odds of victory though. Here’s how to beat Pauline in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
The basics of the battle are that you need to KO Pauline, represented here by Peach. Mario and Donkey Kong will spawn in, but you should avoid them at all costs. These guys are very tough to beat, and deal lots of damage, especially as Mario spawns in with a hammer. You’d think it would be easy to avoid them and take out the somewhat defenseless Peach/Pauline, but you would be wrong. She will jump away from you as soon as she can, finding a safe place to stop. This is where you have some opportunities though.
The best way to beat Pauline in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is to play off of the way she operates. She will run away and find someplace to hide, so you need to bring the fight to her. The best option people have found is the Staff. This weapon fires in a straight line very quickly. Many Spirits will let you equip this from the beginning, such as Cupid. Use this, along with any other Spirits that might help you. We suggest focusing on shooting damage and possibly enhanced damage dealt at 0% health.
Equip all of this, load the fight, then head to the opposite corner of Pauline. She will start in the bottom right corner, so head down and left, then fire away. If you get a few good shots in, you should come away victorious. This isn’t the only way to take Pauline out, but it is the easiest and most effective that players have found so far, especially since it avoids contact with Mario and Donkey Kong.
